Cecilienhof is the palace where the Potsdam Conference of the victorious powers of the Second World War took place from July 17 to August 2, 1945. It is the last palace of the Hohenzollerns. Emperor William II built Cecilienhof on the north side of the New Garden from 1914 to 1917 for his oldest son Crown Prince William and his spouse Cecile of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. The architect was Paul Schultze-Naumburg who orientated himself on the English Tudor style. The brick and wooden palace fits well sto the natural environment.
