Vitamin K
Vitamin K is a fat-soluble vitamin that is essential for the formation of blood clotting factors. You can get the K1 form from vegetables, but the K2 form is found in foods like liver, eggs, cheese, and especially in Japanese fermented natto soybeans.
Vitamin K2 (menaquinone-7) may slow down the calcification of plaques.
Vitamin K2 might help inhibit the calcification of arteries in people with coronary artery disease. However, it's still unclear whether the effect is strong enough to actually reduce things like heart attacks and other symptoms of coronary artery disease.
